Khammam, Aug. 28: Khammam District Collector T.S. Diwakara instructed revenue officials today to maintain complete transparency while resolving disputes related to Section 22A prohibited lands. Addressing a review meeting alongside Additional Collector P. Srinivas Reddy at the Collectorate, he directed officers to cross-check every survey number against original revenue records and resolve genuine private land complaints within 48 hours to avoid causing distress to the public.
The District Collector outlined a standardized framework to categorize prohibited lands into five distinct groups: assigned/ceiling/tenancy/ROFR lands, state/central government properties, Endowment and Wakf lands, urban land ceiling properties, and other public interest lands. He emphasized that proper coordination among Revenue, Registration, and Survey departments will prevent unauthorized registrations while ensuring that genuine private properties mistakenly placed on the 22A list are removed systematically after uploading clear remarks online.
Distinguishing genuine grievances from fraudulent attempts, the Collector warned officers against anti-social elements trying to exploit land disputes for personal gain. He reiterated that while protecting government lands remains a non-negotiable priority, revenue officials must process valid public petitions promptly and submit regular verification reports without negligence.
