Jangaon, Sept.26 : In a major embarrassment to the local administration, court staff seized furniture and office equipment at the Jangaon District Agriculture Officer (DAO) premises on Saturday following judicial orders over long-pending unpaid dues to a contractor.
According to the victim, Kattula Raji Reddy, owner of Deepti Engineering and Welding Workshop, the issue dates back nine years when the government sanctioned farm equipment and tractor implements for beneficiaries under subsidy schemes. Although the government released funds for the bills, the concerned agriculture officials and staff allegedly misused the money for personal use instead of disbursing it to the contractor.
Raji Reddy stated that after making repeated attempts over the years to recover his legitimate dues without any resolution, he was forced to seek legal intervention. Acting on the court’s decree, enforcement officials arrived at the DAO office and attached administrative furniture and equipment to recover the outstanding dues.
