Hanumakonda, July 17 : Warangal West MLA Naini Rajendar Reddy on Friday emphasized that everyone has a responsibility to develop Kakatiya University (KU) into a center of knowledge to shape the future of students, rather than using it as a political platform.
Addressing the media, the MLA criticized certain student organizations for deliberately politicizing the establishment of an Integrated School on the university campus. He pointed out that while past land allocations for a power substation, a bank, and a police station faced no resistance, an educational facility meant for children is being unnecessarily opposed. He questioned the motive behind stalling projects that have already received official approval from the university’s Executive Council (EC).
The MLA alleged that some groups are ignoring genuine campus grievances, such as mess and canteen facilities and staff regularization, to focus solely on disrupting development works for political gain. Calling for a monitoring system similar to Osmania University, he urged the state government to take action against irresponsible officials to ensure efficient administration.
Rajendar Reddy warned that he would not tolerate middlemen and politically motivated individuals damaging the reputation of the institution. He called upon student unions, faculty, and administrative officers to work collectively for the progress of the university.
Later, the MLA felicitated Pulla Srinivas and Peddamalla Srinivas on assuming their new responsibilities as Joint Directo and Head of Department respectively.
