Jagtial, July 17 : The Jagtial Principal District and Sessions Court on Friday sentenced a 25-year-old woman to life imprisonment for murdering her husband and attempting to cover it up as a suicide. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 on the convict.
The convict, Battula Pramila, a resident of Kodimyal village, killed her husband, Battula Srinu, on the night of November 11, 2022, following a dispute over her extramarital affair while he was asleep. The initial investigation was led by former Inspector B. Koteshwar, and later completed by Inspector D. Ramanamurthy, who gathered crucial evidence and submitted the charge sheet.
Upon examining the evidence and cross-examining witnesses produced by Public Prosecutor Ramakrishna Rao, Principal District and Sessions Judge Smt. Ratna Padmavathi found Pramila guilty. Jagtial SP Ashok Kumar, commended the prosecution and police teams for successfully securing the conviction.
