Jagtial, Sept.21 : An elderly couple, Nalla Gangaram and his wife, submitted a representation to Jagtial District Collector seeking police protection and official intervention, alleging threats to their lives from their sons over property disputes. Native residents of Mohanraopet village in Korutla mandal, the couple currently lives in a rented house in Katlakunta village of Medipalli mandal.
The distressed senior citizens stated that they intended to sell a one-gunta land parcel adjacent to their house to finance their basic living expenses, including house rent, daily food, and medical expenditures. However, they alleged that their sons have been threatening them and preventing the land sale. Despite previous attempts to settle the dispute amicably through village elders, their sons refused to cooperate, leaving them in constant fear for their safety.
Appealing to the district administration, the couple urged authorities to safeguard their legal rights and grant protection so they can live peacefully in their old age without fear. They emphasized that selling their self-acquired property is essential to maintaining financial independence and dignity without relying on others.
