Karimnagar, Sept.11 : Former Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA) Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy inspected the arrangements for the upcoming Ganesha idol immersions at Kothapalli tank on Friday. During the visit, he urged officials to ensure seamless arrangements so that devotees face no inconvenience during the festival procession.
The inspection followed a location shift for the immersion site after the previously used land became involved in a court dispute raised by the pattadar (landowner). During the inspection, landowner Kishan Reddy met Narender Reddy at the venue and stated that he had no objection to the land being used for the immersion event, provided the government allocates alternative land in exchange. Narender Reddy clarified that since the matter is sub-judice, the court would be informed to facilitate permission for using the land.
Highlighting the scale of the event, Narender Reddy instructed officials to expand the newly designated site to accommodate over 500 idols expected for immersion. He advised municipal authorities to establish clear traffic management plans to allow prompt exit for vehicles after unloading idols to prevent congestion. Kothapalli Circle Inspector Billa Koteshwar, Municipal staff Parashuramulu, contractor Satheesh, and local leaders Gaddam Srinivas, Ponnam Srinivas, and Dubbasi Kumar were present.
