Adilabad, July 28 : police have arrested a four-member gang for allegedly cheating 25 people of Rs.70 lakh under the pretext of securing government jobs and arranging bank loans across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Tuesday.
According to the District Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan, the accused four members were identified as Chahakati Limba Rao of Narnoor, Jadi Praveen Kumar of Utnoor, Ramtenki Uday Kiran of Kerameri, and Jadi Ravinder of Jainoor.
According to the police, the primary accused, Limba Rao, falsely claimed to be a government employee and formed a syndicate with the other three. The gang lured innocent victims with promises of public sector employment and low-interest bank loans, eventually handing over fake appointment letters after collecting large sums of money.
Following their arrest, SP Akhil Mahajan cautioned the public against trusting unauthorized individuals or unverified job offers and loan advertisements. He urged people not to pay money to fraudsters and advised victims of cyber frauds or financial scams to report incidents immediately by dialing the toll-free helpline 1930.
