Warangal, Oct.8 : Former Minister and BRS leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao demanded that the State Government immediately conduct co-option member elections in all municipalities across the state. Addressing a meeting of BRS councilors and senior party leaders at the party office in Thorrur town on Thursday, Dayakar Rao accused the Congress government of deliberately postponing the elections out of fear that BRS councilors hold a clear majority in most municipal bodies.
Dayakar Rao questioned why the co-option election process has been stalled for nearly a year despite councilors taking charge. He alleged that in the Thorrur municipality, the government is delaying the procedure to prevent the BRS from securing key leadership positions. He insisted that the administration respect democratic norms and restore full operational rights to elected local representatives without further delay.
Targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the BRS leader alleged that the ruling party is attempting to divert public attention from its unfulfilled campaign promises by making baseless land-grabbing allegations against former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Dayakar Rao challenged the Chief Minister and his family members to publicly declare the sources of their wealth and assets before raising accusations against opposition leaders.
Highlighting agricultural distress across the state, Dayakar Rao stated that farmers are expressing deep dissatisfaction over issues related to Rythu Bandhu, fertilizer shortages, irregular power supply, and incomplete farm loan waivers. He urged the government to continue flagship welfare schemes initiated during the BRS regime, including the KCR Kit and Kalyana Lakshmi, while fulfilling its election pledge to provide one tola of gold to marriage scheme beneficiaries.
