Khammam, August-10 : Two young women from Telangana made their home state proud by securing top spots at the prestigious ‘Miss India Universe 2026’ beauty pageant held in Dublin, Ireland. Madineni Nikhita, hailing from Wyra in Khammam district, secured the First Runner-up title, while Raja Rajeshwari from Warangal achieved the Second Runner-up position (third place). The international event brought immense pride to their hometowns, with family members and residents celebrating their success on a foreign stage.
The beauty pageant was organized by the ‘Nammudi Ireland Event Organisation’ specifically for Indian women residing in Ireland. Out of numerous applicants representing states like Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, 18 finalists were shortlisted for the main event. The competition spanned three rigorous rounds that evaluated not only physical elegance but also personality, stage presence, confidence, quick thinking, and resilience when facing challenges.
In the final standings, Anumol from Kerala emerged as the winner of the pageant, First Runner-up by Madineni Nikhita while Second Runner-up by Raja Rajeshwari received. Judges praised Nikhita during the Q&A segment for her poised answers on overcoming setbacks with determination and maintaining a positive attitude toward success.
Nikhita’s personal background reflects a strong blend of academic and professional achievement. After completing her Master of Science (M.Sc) degree, she currently works as a project manager at a construction firm in Ireland. She is the daughter of Madineni Durga Prasad and Sunitha, a serving municipal councillor in Wyra. Expressing her joy, Nikhita shared that representing Indian heritage and Telangana’s culture on an international platform was a deeply fulfilling experience.
