Mulugu, Sept.23 : Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, and Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka laid the foundation stone for a 10,000-metric-ton capacity warehouse in Tadvai mandal center of Mulugu district on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The warehouse, being constructed by the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation at an estimated cost of ₹7 crore, aims to provide safe grain storage for local farmers. ITDA Project Officer Lenin Vatsal Toppo accompanied the Minister during the Bhoomi Pooja.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Seethakka emphasized that the warehouse will resolve longstanding issues faced by farmers who are forced to dry produce on roads due to lack of storage facilities, leading to crop losses during unseasonal rains. She stated that proposals have also been prepared for another warehouse under the Agriculture and Marketing departments. Ordering contractors and officials to maintain high-quality standards, she directed them to expedite construction work beginning in October and complete the structure within six months before the arrival of the next monsoon.
Highlighting ongoing tribal development initiatives, the Minister announced that ₹50 crore was sanctioned recently for cement concrete (CC) roads in tribal habitations and SC colonies. She disclosed that solar power systems will be installed in remote hamlets lacking electricity within ten days to ensure drinking water supply and lighting without disturbing wildlife. Furthermore, Seethakka offered support to women self-help groups (SHGs) willing to establish 5-to-10-acre solar power plants, projecting monthly earnings of up to ₹5 lakh per group. She also encouraged Gram Panchayats to utilize MGNREGA grants worth ₹50 lakh for local water conservation and farm infrastructure works.
The event was attended by District Library Association Chairman Banoth Ravichandar, Market Committee Chairperson Rega Kalyani, Panchayat Raj Director Somayya, along with regional officials and public representatives.
