Adilabad, Sept.23 : Telangana Rakshana Sena Chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha visited the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad following the tragic fire accident and termed the death of five infants as “government-made murders” caused by sheer state negligence. Interacting with the media on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Kavitha criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for failing to visit the district despite having previously declared that he had adopted Adilabad.
Kavitha alleged that severe infrastructure deficiencies and staff shortages led to the tragedy, noting that the hospital lacks adequate sanctioned personnel, operating with less than half the required doctors and nurses, and only three electricians to manage 150 air conditioning units. She criticized Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha for conducting a brief, superficial visit without holding a comprehensive review meeting with district officials, and demanded that the state government immediately release ₹50 lakh as ex-gratia compensation to each bereaved family.
Setting a one-month ultimatum for the state government, the TRS Chief demanded the immediate clearance of pending hospital bills, execution of road works in agency areas, and a full forensic audit of all government hospitals across Telangana. She announced that her party would constitute a specialized study committee to inspect health infrastructure and infant mortality across Adilabad’s tribal belt. Warning the administration, Kavitha stated that if the government fails to address these demands within thirty days, her party would organize a mass blockade (gherao) of Adilabad alongside local tribal communities.
