Karimnagar, Sept.29 : Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam flagged off a 3K Walkathon organized by Medicover Hospital on Tuesday to mark World Heart Day and raise public awareness about cardiovascular health. The awareness walk commenced from Medicover Hospital, passed through Court Chowrastha and Telangana Chowk, and concluded back at the hospital campus.
Speaking after inaugurating the walkathon, Commissioner Gaush Alam emphasized that good health is true wealth and neglecting basic wellness amid busy daily routines directly affects heart health. He called upon people, particularly youth, to adopt healthy lifestyle habits like regular exercise, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, and stress management to prevent heart diseases and live a longer, happier life.
Medicover Hospital doctors highlighted that controlling blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol levels significantly reduces heart risk factors. Specialist cardiologists noted that advanced medical facilities now enable 24-hour stenting procedures in Karimnagar, which has helped reduce heart attack fatalities compared to previous years. They urged the public not to ignore early symptoms of chest pain and seek immediate medical evaluation.
Medicover Center Head Gurram Kiran coordinated the event alongside senior medical specialists, including cardiologists Dr. Anish Pabba, Dr. Vasudeva Reddy, and Dr. Satish Kumar, CT Surgeon Dr. Ravi Kumar, and Center Security Officer Gaush Baba. Hospital staff, local doctors, and community members turned out in large numbers to support the heart health awareness drive.
