Hanumakonda, Oct.7 : Acting on credible information, the Warangal Task Force team raided an unauthorized food manufacturing unit in Arepally on Tuesday and seized a large quantity of adulterated and unhygienically processed ginger-garlic paste. One individual running the illegal operation was apprehended by the police.
The arrested suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Mohammad Saleem Pasha, a resident of Arepally in Warangal. According to police, the accused was operating HKGN Industries without obtaining the necessary government permissions or food safety licenses. During the inspection, officials discovered that he was mixing substandard raw materials, including ginger powder, into the paste and packaging it under various brand names in highly unhygienic conditions to supply to local shops.
During the raid, the Task Force seized loose ginger-garlic paste, pre-packaged boxes and jars of various sizes, expired items intended for refilling, synthetic yellow food color, chemical powders, and citric acid, all valued at approximately Rs 13,605. Officials noted that selling such adulterated food products poses severe risks to public health and consumer safety.
Following the operation, the Task Force team, led by Inspector B. Raja Gopal and SI K. Shyam Sunder under the supervision of Task Force ACP A. Madhusudhan, handed over the accused along with the seized materials to the Warangal District Food Safety Officer for further legal action.
