Karimnagar, Sept.22 : Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam and Karimnagar District Collector Chitra Mishra assured full justice to residents of Narayanapur village in Gangadhara mandal, who have been experiencing severe hardship due to the ongoing construction of the Narayanapur Reservoir. The officials addressed villagers during a grievance meeting held at the Collectorate Conference Hall on Monday evening, September 21, 2026.
During the meeting, MLA Medipally Satyam requested Collector Chitra Mishra to submit a formal proposal to the state government to declare Narayanapur a completely submerged village. He suggested that if declaring full submergence is unfeasible, the administration should allocate alternative house sites in suitable locations and grant Indiramma housing benefits to affected families. Satyam noted that he had raised the issue in the State Assembly multiple times and brought it to the attention of Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, Collector Chitra Mishra assured residents that a comprehensive report covering land acquisition, survey data, and irrigation details since the project’s inception would be submitted to the government. She stated that a committee would scientifically assess the extent of partial and full submergence to ensure fair compensation. Requesting villagers to cooperate with officials during ongoing land acquisition, the Collector advised them to submit any objections in writing for official review.
