Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy along with Medak District Collector Pratima Singh inaugurated the digital platform of MESIC portal
Medak, Sept. 8 : In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Telangana, the Medak district administration has launched the Medak Employment Skills and Industry Connect (MESIC) portal to bridge the employment gap between local educated youth and regional industrial units. The digital platform was officially inaugurated by Minister for Employment, Labour, and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy at the Shanta Biotechnics facility in the Muppireddypally Industrial Area of Manoharabad mandal.
Despite Medak hosting hundreds of industrial units across sectors like pharmaceuticals, food processing, and iron manufacturing, local candidates completing engineering, diploma, ITI, degree, and intermediate courses often struggled to secure employment due to a lack of awareness and direct communication channels. Consequently, local youth migrated to cities like Hyderabad in search of jobs, while local companies recruited workforce from other regions.
To resolve this issue, Medak District Collector Pratima Singh initiated the creation of the MESIC portal. Developed jointly by the district IT team and ITC Company, the unified portal connects job seekers, skill development institutions, and local enterprises on a single digital network. District Manager Sandeep stated that the platform allows job aspirants to register their qualifications, while college placement coordinators and industry recruiters are provided dedicated logins to coordinate campus placements and hiring drives.
Out of the 742 small, medium, and large-scale industrial units operating across key industrial hubs like Manoharabad, Toopran, Chegunta, Narsapur, and Shivvampet, over 600 companies have already onboarded the MESIC portal. The initiative aims to streamline local hiring, reduce youth migration, and ensure that local industrial growth directly benefits qualified youth in the district.
