Karimnagar, July 27 : Responding swiftly to the plight of the government school students struggling with inadequate sanitation facilities, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has initiated the construction of new toilets at the Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) in Choppadandi of Karimnagar district.
The government high school currently enrolls 227 male students who have had to rely on a single, overburdened toilet unit. This severe shortage caused immense hardship during school hours, forcing children to wait in long queues for basic sanitation needs. Moved by the information he received detailing the students’ everyday distress, the Minister stepped in to provide an immediate solution.
Recognizing that government approvals and official tender procedures could cause prolonged delays, Bandi Sanjay opted to leverage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to expedite construction. Acting on his directives, representatives from the Malayappa Foundation collaborated with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to sponsor the infrastructure project.
Work officially commenced on Monday with the ground-marking ceremony for five new toilet blocks within the school premises. Foundation representatives assured that construction would be completed as quickly as possible to relieve the students’ hardships. School teachers and students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Minister Bandi Sanjay and the contributing organizations for addressing their longstanding issues promptly.
