Warangal, July 27 : District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada advised farmers to make full use of organized seed melas and sow certified, high-quality seeds to achieve higher crop yields during the ongoing Kharif season.
The Collector inaugurated a special Seed Mela organized by the Agriculture Department at Medapalli Rythu Vedika in Nallabelly mandal on Monday. She inspected various seed stalls, interacted with officials to inquire about seed varieties, quality standards, availability, and usage patterns across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satya Sharada urged farmers to purchase certified seeds exclusively from recognized, authorized agencies. She emphasized that farmers must insist on receiving a valid purchase bill and carefully verify the product details printed on seed bags before planting to avoid fake or substandard inputs.
The Collector instructed officials from the Agriculture Department to actively educate local farmers on crop selection, proper seed utilization, and scientific farm management techniques. She encouraged agriculturalists to follow government guidelines and adopt modern cultivation practices for better productivity.
District Agriculture Officer Vijay Bhaskar, Horticulture Officer Srinivas Rao, Mandal Agricultural Officers (AOs), local farmers and department officials attended the event.
