1 Kg Ganja seized in Karimnagar Rural
Karimnagar, Sept. 2 : Acting on reliable information, Karimnagar Rural Police seized 1.011 kg of dry cannabis (ganja) during a vehicle inspection near the Sammakka Gaddelu area on the outskirts of Irukulla village. Officers arrested one suspect at the scene while launching a manhunt for his associate who fled into nearby bushes.
The arrested individual was identified as Bejjanki Prem Kumar (28), an automobile worker residing near the Bypass Road area in Karimnagar. During interrogation, Prem Kumar revealed that he formed an acquaintance six months ago with Kasipaka Naveen (23) of Irukulla village, who introduced him to consuming ganja. Naveen frequently procured bulk quantities of ganja, packed them into small sachets, and distributed them across neighboring villages for monetary gain.
According to police, Naveen brought over a kilogram of ganja a day prior and met Prem Kumar near the village outskirts to package and distribute the contraband. Upon spotting the police team led by Inspector Anumula Niranjan Reddy and SI A. Laxma Reddy, both suspects attempted to escape. While officers apprehended Prem Kumar, Naveen managed to evade capture. Police recovered 1.011 kg of ganja, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone in the presence of official witnesses.
Prem Kumar was placed under arrest and remanded to judicial custody, while dedicated teams are currently tracking down the absconding suspect, Kasipaka Naveen, to trace the supply source. Police Commissioner Ghouse Alam and Rural ACP Vijay Kumar commended the Karimnagar Rural Police team for successfully executing the operation and reiterating their zero-tolerance stance on illegal drug trade.
