KARIMNAGAR, OCT.28 : The 40th annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Yagna Varaha Swamy, managed by Sarva Vaidika Samsthanam, commenced on a grand note at the Yagna Varaha Kshetram on Wednesday. The six-day religious festivities, running through November 2, officially kicked off with traditional rituals including the Senadhipathi Utsavam, Mritsangrahanam, Ankurarpanam, and Dhwajapata Sayanadhivasam.
As part of the opening ceremonies, the deity’s commander-in-chief, Vishvaksena, was taken in a ceremonial procession along the temple’s four mada streets during the Senadhipathi Utsavam to oversee event arrangements. This was followed by Mritsangrahanam and Ankurarpanam, where sacred soil was collected from a designated site within the temple premises, placed into nine earthen containers (palikas) in the yagasala, and sown with nine varieties of grains (Navadhanyalu) to symbolize prosperity and the grand success of the festival.
Organizers stated that the celebrations are being conducted strictly in accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama traditions, similar to those performed at Tirumala. Vedic scholars and Agama experts from prominent shrines, including Tirupati, Yadadri, Bhadrachalam, Annavaram, and Vemulawada, have gathered to officiate the daily rituals. Throughout the festival, the deity along with His consorts will bless devotees in diverse celestial guises while riding various sacred vahanams (vehicles), accompanied by continuous Vedic chanting and cultural performances.
Addressing press personnel, representatives of the Sarva Vaidika Samsthanam Trust highlighted the legacy of founder Late Sribhashyam Vijayasarathi, noting that the temple hosts 24 annual festivals. While thanking philanthropists for their ongoing support, the trust appealed for increased donations to sustain traditional temple activities, reminding donors that contributions qualify for 80G income tax exemptions.
