KHAMMAM, OCT.28 : Sathupalli MLA Dr. Matta Ragamayee Dayanand inaugurated the 73rd State-Level Senior Women’s Kabaddi Tournament at the Rani Celebration Function Hall in Sathupalli town on Wednesday. The three-day prestigious sporting event, taking place from October 28 to 30, was organized to mark the birthday celebrations of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
To mark the occasion, MLA Dr. Ragamayee cut a birthday cake at the venue and extended her heartiest wishes to Minister Srinivasa Reddy, praying for his good health and continued public service. Speaking at the ceremony, she expressed delight over Sathupalli hosting a state-level athletic championship, commending the organizers for providing excellent lodging, food, and arena facilities for participating sportswomen from across Telangana.
Dr. Ragamayee emphasized the importance of encouraging female athletes, uncovering rural talent, and creating robust platforms for women to excel in national-level sports. She congratulated primary organizer Muppa Vijaya Babu for his efforts in hosting the tournament and encouraged all participating teams to showcase sportsmanship and deliver outstanding performances.
The inaugural function witnessed the participation of Kabaddi Association State Vice President and Khammam District Secretary Katikala Christopher Babu, State Joint Secretary K. Swathimutyam, Sathupalli Municipal Chairperson M.D. Rahena Kamal Pasha, Vice Chairperson Bontu Sumalatha, AMC Chairman Doma Anand, Town Congress President Gade Chennarao, alongside several local councillors, sarpanches, and sports enthusiasts.
