HANUMAKONDA, OCT.28 : The Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force has traced and formally forfeited assets valued at approximately ₹70.39 lakh linked to an alleged ganja trafficking network in the region, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The administrative action follows a detailed financial investigation conducted under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, targeting illicit proceeds generated from narcotics trade.
The initial operational crackdown by the Warangal Narcotics Police Station led to the seizure of 147.3 kg of dry ganja, two transport vehicles, and three mobile phones, resulting in cases filed against four individuals under relevant NDPS Act sections. As the financial probe progressed, inspecting officer Inspector of Police B. Ravinder scrutinized revenue passbooks, property sale deeds, tax receipts, building approvals, and bank accounts to map out movable and immovable assets registered under the accused and their close relatives.
The financial investigation led to the freezing of three bank accounts holding ₹1.59 lakh belonging to Munawar Ali and his family, along with a tractor and motorcycle worth ₹7.80 lakh linked to Kilo Somaraju and Samala Raju. Furthermore, three immovable properties—comprising agricultural land and two open plots valued at ₹61 lakh belonging to relatives of Nerella Sadaiah and Samala Sheshu—were frozen. The Competent Authority in Chennai officially confirmed the complete forfeiture of these properties totaling ₹70,39,910 on October 27, 2026.
Reiterating its stance against drug syndicates, the EAGLE Force emphasized that its enforcement strategy extends beyond physical drug seizures to completely dismantling the financial networks underpinning trafficking operations. Coordinating closely with local law enforcement, the specialized unit pledged to continue intelligence-based crackdowns on procurement, distribution, and asset creation derived from illicit drug proceeds across the state.
