Sri Krishnashtami celebrated with religious fervour at Vemulawada Temple
Rajanna Sircilla, Sept.4 : Sri Krishnashtami celebrations were conducted with immense devotion and spiritual fervor at the famous Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district. Temple priests and Vedic scholars performed special rituals and chants at the historic Hari-Hara shrine to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.
The festive proceedings began in the early morning with traditional music (Mangalavayidyalu) and Suprabhata Seva. At the sub-temples of Sri Ananta Padmanabha Swamy and Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy located within the temple complex, priests performed sacred Panchopachara pujas accompanied by Vedic incantations. The deities were adorned with rich silk garments and vibrant floral decorations for special private prayers. In accordance with age-old traditions, Pradosha Kala pujas were also grandly performed at the affiliated Sri Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple.
Following the religious rituals, the traditional Utti Kotthe (pot-breaking) ceremony captivated the gathering of devotees. Many families brought their young children dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha to participate in the festivities, with the youngsters enthusiastically taking part in breaking the hanging pots. A large number of pilgrims thronged the shrine throughout the day to offer prayers and receive teertham and prasadam.
