Temporary Tar-road built at Teegalaguttapalli ROB to relief Karimnagar–Choppadandi commuters
Karimnagar. Sept.4 : Commuters traveling on the Karimnagar–Choppadandi route have received major relief following the completion of a temporary tar road near the ongoing Railway Over Bridge (ROB) construction site at Teegalaguttapalli. The road was constructed on a war footing using ₹28 lakh from municipal funds, following the intervention of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Traffic movement along the stretch had been severely disrupted due to prolonged delays in the construction of the Teegalaguttapalli ROB, where the contractor has been given a deadline until 2028 to finish the project. Despite repeated requests from local residents for a temporary approach road, state government funding was delayed. Taking note of the public hardship, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar directed Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas and Deputy Mayor Y. Sunil Rao to utilize municipal general funds to lay the temporary tar road immediately.
The ₹156-crore Teegalaguttapalli ROB project faced initial hurdles during the previous BRS administration due to delays in releasing the state’s funding share and slow land acquisition. Bandi Sanjay had earlier secured full central sanctions for the project, while the current Congress administration subsequently accelerated the land acquisition process. Since the primary ROB contractor’s work timeline extends to 2028, the newly laid temporary tar road will ensure smooth traffic flow and ease commuter inconvenience in the interim.
