Karimnagar, Sept.8 : Karimnagar police have arrested Dudapaka Tirupati, alias Tirupati Rao, the prime suspect in a major employment fraud case involving fake job offers at Satavahana University. The fraudster duped 21 job seekers of approximately ₹44 lakh by fraudulently promising them university positions.
The scam came to light following a complaint filed by Purushottam Mamata of Vidyanagar. According to the police investigation, Tirupati passed himself off as a Botany Professor at Satavahana University. Between October 2025 and January 2026, he collected money from victims and handed out counterfeit appointment orders. To make the recruitment appear genuine, the accused conducted fake examinations using forged question papers, dummy OMR sheets, and falsified service registers.
Acting on instructions from Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam, a team led by Karimnagar-II Town Inspector K. Srujan Reddy and CCS Inspector R. Prakash arrested Tirupati and recovered several crucial forged documents from his possession.
Police revealed that seven accomplices identified as Narasimhamurthy, Kola Venkateswara Rao, Dudapaka Lavanya, Eatla Satyam, Rajasekhar, Anjaiah, and Bolla Nagaraju are currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace them. Police advised citizens not to pay money for job promises and urged applicants to verify recruitment notifications directly with official organizations.
