Khammam, Oct.22 : Senior Congress leader Tummala Yugender unveiled the official poster for the upcoming 48th Junior Inter-District Girls Handball Championship-2026 at a ceremony held at the camp office in Khammam. Organized under the auspices of the Khammam District Handball Association, the prestigious state-level tournament is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 2, 2026, at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Khammam.
The championship is being conducted with the active support of the Handball Federation of India (Telangana chapter), the Sports Authority of Telangana, the District Youth and Sports Office (DYSO), and the Telangana Olympic Association. Association representatives noted that the tournament provides an exceptional platform for young female athletes across the state to showcase their sporting talent, foster competitive spirit, and advance their athletic careers. Khammam District Handball Association General Secretary Varikuti Mohan and local sports organizers are overseeing comprehensive logistical arrangements to ensure the event’s success.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders commended the initiative to promote youth sports in the region. Senior Congress leaders Rayala Nageswara Rao, Khader Babu, Hanumantha Rao, and Krishna Mohan, alongside senior athletes and association members, participated in the poster launch event.
