KARIMNAGAR, OCT.28 : The BC Rajyadhikara Samithi has appealed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the state government to nominate its founder president, Dasu Suresh, as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) under the Governor’s quota. Addressing a press conference at the organization’s office near Geetha Bhavan in Karimnagar on Wednesday, Samithi state secretary Gadapa Kotesh and district leaders urged the administration to recognize two decades of relentless agitation for Backward Classes (BC) empowerment and handloom weavers’ welfare.
Gadapa Kotesh emphasized that nominating Dasu Suresh to the legislature would provide a legitimate platform to articulate the socio-economic and political aspirations of Padmasali, handloom, and other marginalized communities. He noted that Suresh has worked selflessly to organize oppressed classes, address crises within the handloom sector, and bring grassroots grievances to administrative attention. He added that political representation in policy-making bodies is essential to achieving true social justice rather than treating backward classes merely as a voting bloc.
Reinforcing the demand, district general secretary Vanga Venkateshwarlu and state spokesperson Athikam Rajasekhar stated that conferring an MLC post on Suresh would acknowledge the collective struggles of BC communities. They stressed that having a dedicated voice in the legislature is critical to solving pressing issues related to employment security, educational opportunities, and financial distress among weavers. The leaders urged the government to demonstrate its commitment to inclusive growth by approving Suresh’s nomination.
