Kakatiya University Partners with Germany’s Reutlingen University for Dual-Degree Program
Warangal, August 31 : In a major boost to international higher education opportunities for local students, Kakatiya University (KU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reutlingen University in Germany. Alignment with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision to expand global exposure for Telangana’s youth was cited as a primary driver for the partnership.
The official exchange of documents took place virtually during an event held at Osmania University, Hyderabad. The ceremony was held in the presence of KU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Pratap Reddy, Telangana Education Principal Secretary Yogita Rana (IAS), and Osmania University VC Prof. Kumar. Key officials including KU Registrar Prof. V. Ramachandram, Reutlingen University Vice Dean Prof. Brune Jochen, Program Manager Stefan Deglemann, and KU representatives joined the session.
Under the “3+2” dual-degree Master’s framework, eligible students will spend their first three years at Kakatiya University before traveling to Germany to complete a two-year Master’s degree at Reutlingen University. Students completing the initial three years will receive a Bachelor’s degree from Kakatiya University, followed by a Master’s degree from Reutlingen University upon completing the full program.
The program will offer specialized pathways, including a Master of Professional Software Engineering for students in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), alongside options like Digital Business Management for other disciplines. A total of 20 merit-cum-reservation candidates will be selected for the inaugural cohort with partial financial assistance from the university, paving the way for international academic and employment opportunities.
