Karimnagar, Sept. 2 : BRS party cadre led a massive protest rally in Gangadhara mandal of Choppadandi constituency in Karimnagar district against the alleged failure of the ruling Congress government to honor its electoral promises during its 1,000-day tenure. Following a call given by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao, former MLA Sunke Ravishankar and senior BRS leader Kotha Jaipal Reddy organized the demonstration.
The protest featured a 420-foot-long banner—symbolizing the “420 false promises” made by the Congress party carried by party workers from the Pattikuntapalli Hanuman Temple to the Ambedkar Junction on the Karimnagar-Jagtial main highway. Demonstration participants also distributed ‘dues cards’ outlining unfulfilled welfare commitments to local residents.
Addressing the gathering, former MLA Sunke Ravishankar accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of abandoning the ‘Six Guarantees.’ He cited key failures, including unpaid monthly assistance under the Mahalaxmi scheme, incomplete implementation of the ₹2 lakh farm loan waiver, delayed Rythu Bharosa payouts, pending student fee reimbursement arrears, and unfulfilled job creation targets for unemployed youth.
Several prominent party functionaries participated in the event to demonstrate solidarity, including Gangadhara BRS Mandal President Mechineni Naveen Rao, Choppadandi Mandal President Velma Srinivas Reddy, and Youth Convener Bandarapu Ajay Kumar. The protest concluded with leaders vowing to intensify public agitation against the state government’s policies.
