Peddapally, Sept.3 : The Peddapally POCSO Court has sentenced a 22-year-old man to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹50,000 after finding him guilty of behaving inappropriately with a minor girl.
The convicted individual has been identified as Teetla Navadeep, a laborer residing in Ramulapalli village of Eligedu mandal. According to the case details, the incident occurred on April 10, 2025, when the victim returned home from school. Finding no elders at home, she went to play at her relative Navadeep’s house nearby. The convict took the minor girl inside a bedroom and acted inappropriately. The girl managed to escape, returned home, and narrated the ordeal to her mother when she returned from work in the evening.
Following the victim’s mother’s complaint, the Julapalli police registered a case and arrested Navadeep. Under the supervision of police officials, investigating officers completed a thorough probe and submitted a comprehensive charge sheet before the court.
After hearing arguments from both sides and evaluating the evidence presented by Public Prosecutor Donkena Ravinder, Hon’ble Judge K. Swapnarani found Navadeep guilty under the POCSO Act. Peddapalli DCP Bhukya Ramreddy and Police Commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha commended the investigating team, court constables, and prosecution officers for their role in ensuring a swift conviction and delivering justice to the victim.
