Jagtial, Oct.21 : The Telangana State Sanchara Muslim Degala Sangham (BC-E 1-14) held an emergency press meet in Korutla of Jagtial district on Wednesday, strongly criticizing the state government for failing to fulfill pre-poll promises made to nomadic Muslim communities. Association leaders expressed deep resentment, stating that despite assurances to implement all welfare guarantees within six months of assuming office, over three years have elapsed without tangible action.
Highlighting major grievances, leaders condemned the government’s apathy toward their long-standing demand for a separate corporation for Sanchara Muslims, contrasting it with expedited welfare measures for other groups. They questioned the status of the promised ₹1,000 crore annual livelihood fund, scholarships up to ₹5 lakh under the “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Taufa-e-Taleem” scheme, and the comprehensive census for BC-E reservation hikes. They also criticized welfare schemes like “Revanth Anna Ka Sahara,” alleging they amounted to maximum publicity with zero ground-level implementation.
Announcing their future course of action, the association warned of launching a powerful state-wide movement in collaboration with broader Backward Classes (BC) organizations if their demands are ignored. The meeting was attended by Founder and State Working President MD Shabbir, Advisor Sheikh Mujaheed, District President MD Shamsuddin, District Honorary President Ibrahim, alongside several state and district leaders.
