HANUMAKONDA, OCT.25 : Former MP Boinapalli Vinod Kumar stated on Saturday that the upcoming Warangal–Nalgonda–Khammam Graduates’ MLC elections will act as a key indicator of the political direction in Telangana. Speaking as the chief guest at a BRS Warangal West constituency review meeting chaired by former Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, he urged party workers to treat the election with high priority as educated voters assess current governance before casting their ballots.
Vinod Kumar emphasized that the outcome will serve as a bellwether for the upcoming Warangal Municipal Corporation elections and subsequent Assembly polls. He noted that although political party symbols do not appear on the ballot papers, major parties treat these elections with significant prestige. Criticizing the current administration, he alleged growing dissatisfaction among youth, employees, and intellectuals regarding unfulfilled promises, job opportunities, and agricultural support across the state.
Focusing on voter registration, the former MP instructed every Booth Level Agent (BLA) to strictly monitor enrollment drives until final lists are published. He urged party workers in Warangal West to increase the local graduates’ voter count from 32,000 to at least 40,000, out of the total 2,74,521 registered voters across the constituency. He directed agents to verify existing voter lists door-to-door, ensure draft registrations, and submit petitions if eligible voters are omitted.
Highlighting Warangal’s historic role in the Telangana statehood movement, Vinod Kumar recalled describing Kakatiya University as the epicentre of the movement in Parliament. He acknowledged the contributions of Professor Jayashankar, faculty, students, and intellectuals who supported BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao during the 14-year struggle. Senior party leaders, including former corporation chairmen Vasudeva Reddy, Yadav Reddy, Rakesh Reddy, and former corporators, attended the meeting.
