KARIMNAGAR, OCT.24 : Former Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA) Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy declared on Saturday that the State government is fully prepared to tackle the El Niño crisis. He called upon citizens to act responsibly and practice strict conservation of water and electricity during these testing environmental conditions.
Speaking at a press conference held at his Mukarampura office, Narender Reddy stated that El Niño has severely impacted around one hundred nations globally after several years. Highlighting the imminent threat of severe water and power shortages stemming from deficit rainfall, he urged the public to strictly observe conservation measures advised by authorities. He also appealed to voluntary non-governmental organizations to actively join relief efforts.
The former SUDA chief slammed opposition parties for attempting to shift blame onto the Congress government by misrepresenting a natural disaster as a government-made drought. He reminded critics of how the Congress acted responsibly as a constructive opposition during the BRS administration during the COVID-19 pandemic and urged them to show similar maturity.
Addressing queries about nominated posts and the SUDA chairmanship, Narender Reddy reiterated his 30-year dedicated service to the Congress party. He reaffirmed complete allegiance to party high-command decisions while clarifying that his push for term renewal stems purely from a desire to finish pending civic development projects funded by revenues generated during his tenure.
