Mulugu, Oct.22 : DSP Ravinder issued a stern warning that severe legal action will be taken against individuals setting up illegal electric traps in agricultural fields to catch wild animals. Highlighting the grave dangers of such practices, the DSP pointed out that electric snares intended for wildlife frequently result in accidental human fatalities, leaving grieving families destitute when primary breadwinners lose their lives.
Citing a recent tragic incident within the Jakaram village panchayat limits in Mulugu mandal, the police official reminded the public that individuals responsible for setting such fatal traps ended up behind bars after causing avoidable deaths. He strongly advised farmers to adopt safe, alternative methods for crop protection rather than resorting to dangerous live-wire setups that risk human lives and invite severe criminal prosecution.
Urging active community cooperation, DSP Ravinder appealed to the public to immediately inform local law enforcement authorities if they notice anyone installing illegal electric traps in their vicinity. The police department reiterated its commitment to enforcing wildlife and public safety laws rigorously across the district.
