KARIMNAGAR, OCT.28 : BJP Kisan Morcha State Vice President Singireddy Krishna Reddy demanded that the state government immediately declare Choppadandi mandal as drought-affected and provide comprehensive financial relief to farmers, agricultural laborers, and traditional artisans. Under the leadership of BJP Rural Mandal President Mogili Mahesh, a delegation of party leaders submitted a formal representation outlining their key demands to Choppadandi Deputy Tahsildar Sardar Manmith Singh on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Singireddy Krishna Reddy expressed concern over severe water shortages, urging officials to draft village-wise action plans to mitigate drinking water scarcity in rural areas. He highlighted that local wells have dried up due to prevailing drought conditions, while canal water supplies remain disrupted owing to administrative negligence. To alleviate distress among cultivators suffering crop losses, he requested the prompt release of pending Rythu Bharosa financial assistance funds to all eligible farmers.
Furthermore, the BJP leader urged the government to disburse ₹36,000 to every farm laborer, covering three years of pending annual assistance of ₹12,000 promised by the administration, to support families facing unemployment due to uncultivated lands. He also appealed for the complete waiver of interest on agricultural loans and the postponement of long-term loan installment collections to ease the financial burden on the farming community.
The delegation included SC Morcha District President Battula Laxminarayana, District Secretary Chepuri Satyanarayana Goud, District Council Member Gollagattayya, Mandal General Secretaries Jitta Kumar and Kommu Ramesh, along with senior leaders Edla Suresh, Challa Anoosh, Thota Kotesh, Bairagoni Kittu Goud, and several party activists.
