HANUMAKONDA, OCT.27 : The Hanumakonda Vibhag unit of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) submitted a formal representation to the District Collector and District Magistrate on Tuesday, raising serious concerns regarding national security, foreign corporate influence, and external interference in domestic affairs. The intellectual forum urged local and central authorities to review regulatory compliance for foreign satellite services and monitor potential national security threats within the region.
In their representation, SJM representatives highlighted risks associated with Elon Musk-led Starlink’s satellite internet services. They expressed apprehension over direct satellite-to-satellite laser communication technology, which could bypass India’s designated domestic internet gateways, creating vulnerabilities in regulatory oversight and data sovereignty. The organization warned that unauthorized equipment operating without mandatory lawful interception checks could pose law-and-order challenges, urging local law enforcement to track and seize any illegal operational terminals within district borders.
Furthermore, the delegation called for administrative vigilance regarding foreign funding networks and international organizations, alleging that foreign entities attempt to manipulate domestic social stability and democratic processes. The forum requested the District Collector to escalate these security concerns to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Communications, demanding that no commercial satellite operations be permitted without complete data localization and strict national security clearances.
